Karrlie really needed attention of other husband:
I made a distinction between real wife stories mechanical exercises which are intended to promote the making of hypotheses or the discovery of rules and the hypothesis testing exercises whereby the learner can check whether he knows the rules or how right his rules are.
MILFS tell him whether he still needs to work at the ‘item’ or not. But they also tell the teacher whether the learner has yet learned this `item’. This is why wife stories exercises look like objective test materials. There is no difference in form between the two things, only a difference in function. Exercises of this sort are designed to tell the learner about his knowledge and thereby help him to learn. Tests are intended to tell the teacher (or researcher) about what the learner knows. It is of no consequence, therefore, whether the learner does or does not make errors in his exercises, they are not meant to measure anything. It may, of course, be of consequence to both learner and teacher if he makes errors in his tests. They are intended to measure his knowledge for various real wife stories. It is because of the similarity in form between tests and exercises of this sort that both teachers and learners have, particularly in the past, confused the two functions.
